Tattoo Book

When it comes to body art, how can one not talk about tattoos? A craze that dates back to the prehistoric times, but has come back in trend forcefully since the past few years, tattooing serves the purposes of decorative body modification. In the present times, tattoos are often known as tattoos as Ink, Tats, Art and even Work, while the tattooists are referred to as Artists. Are you interested in exploring the body art further? Do you want to know about the various designs as well as genres of tattoos? If yes, then browsing through the tattoo books, also known as tattoo readings, will be the best bet. Go through the following lines and get a list of some of the most popular books on the body art of tattooing.

Tattoo Books

A complete reference guide for body artists, illustrating the essential techniques of tattoo art and providing stylish designs on a range of subjects, many of them accompanied by photographs showing how the design translates to the skin. The designs provided include classic tattoo motifs such as flowers, hearts, butterflies, stars and zodiac symbols alongside contemporary favorites such as Japanese kanji characters. The result is a complete guide to the art of tattooing as well as a rich source of over 200 designs suitable for tattoos. A must for anyone interested in the subject.

Tattoo Design Ideas

Before you decide to get a tattoo, you should always take a little bit of time to talk to your tattoo artist. When you speak to him or her, you should be sure to ask questions and find out anything you can about your new tattoo. You should also find out information about his or her background, and other important bits of information that will assist you in moving forward with your decision.

The first thing you should find out is how long they have been applying tattoos. Many tattoo artists have worked in more than one shop. Find out when they came to the shop they are in now and why they left their last shop. If they are the owner of the shop, find out how long they have been in business. Ask to see a portfolio of work they have done.

You should also find out about his or her knowledge of the cleanliness guidelines sanctioned by most states. Compliance to these specifications are a must, as infections and other diseases can easily be contracted if the equipment isn’t clean. All equipment should be properly sterilized, including counters, chairs, etc. Needles should be single use. An experienced tattoo artist will wait and remove the needles from the packaging in your presence, immediately prior to beginning. Even tattooists that sharpen their own needles send them off to be properly sterilized and packaged. Anything else would be at your own risk.

Tattoo Design

Tattoo Dragons

Dragon tattoos are hot! The dragon is absolutely hands down one of the most beautiful and powerful of all the mythic beasts. The absolute beauty and power of these fabulous beasts alone warrant their attention as tattoo designs. Then being combined with a long and rich history of tattooing as an art form such as in the Japanese culture and you have a winning combination.

Dragons are a very popular tattoo design. Dragons made as dragon tribal tattoos or dragon Celtic tattoos are also very popular.

Dragon tattoos can be tattooed as armbands / arm bands, lowerback / lower back pieces, on ankles, shoulders, the upperback area, chest. . . just about anywhere as body art.

Tattoo Drawings

We all know that tattoo drawings can be of almost anything at all. This one however is a drawing of some sort of winged dragon or demon that comes with a knife or short sword. Perhaps meaning that it is a dragon with a sting. In many cultures dragon are a power of strength and can represent a God like creature so maybe this drawing is meant to be of one of those creatures and that the sword is to show that it wields a great power with it. We know, from the holes in this creatures wings that it is not one that would be afraid of fighting, but rather one who would welcome it. And perhaps that is the message here. Like saying, if you mess with me, you’re going to know you’ve been in a wild fight, win or lose.

It’s hard to find tattoo drawings this good and I like tattoo drawings like this one. It shows both imagination and creativity and for me those are the most important elements in any form of artwork, most especially tattoos. With the right shading and coloring this could really be one hell of a nice tattoo that I believe would be appreciate by many for a very long time.

Tattoo Flash

A tattoo flash is a tattoo design printed or drawn on paper or cardboard, and may be regarded as a species of industrial design. It is typically displayed on the walls of tattoo parlors and in binders to give walk-in customers ideas for tattoos. Much if not most traditional tattoo flash was designed for rapid tattooing, and was either drawn by the individual artist for display and use in his own shop, or traded and sold among artists. Hand-drawn, local tattoo flash has largely been replaced by professional “flash artists” who produce prints of copyrighted flash and sell them at conventions or through the Internet. There is no standard size for tattoo flash, but it is commonly found on 11×14 inch prints. Tattoo flash may or may not come with an outline, also known as a line drawing. This outline is typically printed on a separate sheet. This is convenient for the tattoo artist, who would otherwise have to draw the line work for themselves.

tattoo art

In today’s world tattoo art is probably as big as it has ever been. More and more people who in the past would never have gotten a tattoo are now going out and doing it and makes one ask why? The answer is simple. It has become a cool thing to do. It used to be considered something done only by what would be considered lower class citizens but now it is pretty much acceptable by everyone. A big part of this is because of celebrities who have been showing up in photographs and on television and movies with their many tattoos for some years now. And the mentality is that if they can get them so will I. Simply put, they made tattoo art cool again. Of course in some cultures it has always been cool and even expected of people but never really in mainstream western civilization culture has it been acceptable until very recently.

For the people who get into tattoo art and turn their bodies into a canvas like the girl in this picture, the tattoos themselves are usually a very personal thing and generally have some sort of special meanings known only to them. Not always, some are just done because they like the way they look, but most times there is more though behind them.

Tattoo Parlors

Getting a piece of body art is a big step for many people; finding the best place to get a tattoo can seem daunting. However, there are a few simple steps and observations that can be made in determining if a tattoo parlor and individual artist are going to be worth spending money on. The first and most important thing to remember is that all tattoo parlors are required to have licensing, which should be displayed in a visible place in the store. If it’s not, and the employees cannot provide proof of licensing, turn around and walk back out the door.

There are factors aside from legal licensing that should be considered before deciding to spend money at a particular parlor.

The level of sanitation in tattoo parlors should be very high, and in more than one way. If the store itself is cluttered and dirty, that reflects a level of unhygienic practices by the people who run the store that could be repeated in the way a tattoo is made. A clean, well-lit tattoo parlor that gives off an air of sanitation and orderliness is important.

The cleanliness of the tattoo needles and tubes is equally important. A tattoo parlor that continues to reuse needles, even if they are sanitized, may not be as clean as it looks. Parlors that dispose of needles in hazardous material bags after one use are demonstrating a willingness to protect both employees and customers from infection, and are more likely to be of higher quality.

Look closely at the workstations of individual tattoo artists, as well; a cluttered workspace is a sign of a disorganized artist; and while most artists tend to be expressive and slightly messy, finding a tattoo artist who takes care of his or her working space is more likely to inspire confidence in their clients.

Tattoo PatternsHere is a whole sheet of different tattoo patterns to look over. They are all pretty much in the same style of things but are still very much their own designs. Each one of them of course having something quite unique about them. They all seem to have a bit of tribal influence in them as well but it is hard to tell, without being an expert on tribal tattoos, how deep that authority might run. These tattoo patterns go from the wrap around style to the directly up and down style to even a few more which I do not have the terminology for.

They are all good tattoo designs and they would all make some attractive good tattoos. The best thing about checking out designs like these is that with these styles you can pretty much be certain that the final tattoo will look exactly like these look right now. The color and texture of the skin really will not change what the tattoo comes out like. And that of course makes it easier to pick your tattoo out should any of these tattoo patterns be appealing to you .
