Christina [Picture]
The Christina is not a very popular piercing, due to its lengthy healing time and high rejection rate. The Christina is a vertical piercing through the V-shaped junction at the top of the outer labia which comes out slightly above in the pubic area.
The Christina also requires specific anatomic criteria in order to be suitable for the wearer. The thickness of the skin the piercing goes through is responsible for requiring a longer healing time than most other piercings. Natural body movements can also cause the jewelry to twist and bind, which can make it very uncomfortable and just not practical.
Recommended jewelry for the Christina is a 12 to 10 gauge curved barbell. Captive bead rings are not recommended, especially for the initial piercing, although it can be used once the piercing is healed. (Understand gauge sizes with this Interactive Gauge Comparison Chart)
Estimated healing time: 12-16 weeks (or longer)
