We understand that first time it’s a little tough to get everything perfect. But we’re here to guide you on how to find the right tattoo design, right artist and ways to bear the tattoo pain.

Here’s everything that you need to know before getting your first tattoo:

Find the right design

You need to do a lot of research on designs to select the one that’s perfect for you. First, you need to think why and where you need a tattoo, what symbols or quotes could express your thinking in form of a tattoo, and what’s you budget. Well, if you have a specific reason for which you need to get a tattoo done, it definitely makes your ink unique and meaningful. You just need to find the right design that could express your sentiments in a better way on your skin. Where do you want a tattoo is also important! If you’re not sure, you can ask for the recommendations from your tattoo artist. They may advise you on where a particular design would look good on you.

Find right tattoo artist as per your budget

Once you’ve finalized the design and location of your tattoo, the next thing that matters is your budget. This is because you don’t want to spend money like water on a single piece of a tattoo. Moreover, getting a cheap tattoo that’s not up to the mark is not good either. So, just browse the internet and research for all the good tattoo artists around you. Look for the reviews and even visit their tattoo shop to see how hygienically they work, and how is the work environment. After looking at all these things schedule your appointment with the tattoo artist that meets your specifications and budget, of course.

No pain, no gain

Every tattoo – small or big – is painful. So, don’t expect that you won’t feel even a bit of pain. But don’t be traumatized. It’s not that worse; however, for some people the pain can be unbearable. For them, numbing creams, like Dr. Numb or NumbSkin skin could be recommended by the tattoo artists. However, you must even consult a medical practitioner (about any allergic skin reactions) before applying any such creams

Aftercare is necessary

You religiously need to take care of your tattoo after it’s done – as it can enhance or ruin the look of your design, depending on the aftercare. Do follow the instructions given to you by your tattoo artist. Keep it clean and hydrated with a good moisturizer. Avoid sun exposure on the tattooed area until fully healed, and even after it is healed always apply a sunscreen on the tattooed area before stepping out of your house.
