Similarly, when our outer skin gets annoyed by any outside agent (insect bite, prickly clothes, etc), the receiver in the skin become irritated and deliver a lightning fast signal to the brain and brain takes up the signal and delivers the same to body to get rid of it and then we SCRATCH and we scratch till we get satisfy.

Sometimes this scratching becomes so annoying that it hampers our sleep eventually disturbing our whole next day.

So, how to get rid of itching in the most natural ways possible.

Let’s discuss few of them and make our life easier:

  • Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is the carrier of some antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which helps you to get rid of irritation and itchiness.

Just pour 2-3 cups of ACV in Luke warm water. Soak cotton ball in the mixture and apply it on your affected area. Keep it for 30 minutes and wash it away using warm water.

Repeat the procedure for two times a day for effective results.

  • Lemon Juice

The Citric and acetic acid present in lemon juice can provide you a great relief from itchy skin by killing away the harmful bacteria present on your skin.

For the most effective results, you can directly apply it on your effected area.

  • Baking Soda

Baking Soda naturally neutralizes the acid and gives us a soothing effect because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Add one cup of Baking Soda into the bath tub full of water and wait till it thoroughly gets mixed up. Soak in the water for about 30 minutes and repeat the process once daily for better results.

  • Cold Water

The signal of both cold and itchiness travel along the same nerve fibers, so if the affected area comes in contact with some cold water, it relives you from itching. There are many different ways to use the cold water:

  1. Run a tap of cold water on your affected area;
  2. Use icing on your affected area;
  3. Take a cool shower or bath.
  • Milk and Honey

The mixture of milk and honey provide you a smoother, softer and itch-free skin as both are full of microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Take milk and honey in equal quantity and apply the mixture on your affected area. Rinse it off with plain water after 15-20 minutes.

Also, try taking milk bath once a month for itch-free skin.

  • Almond Oil

Lack of moisture in the skin is one of the basic reasons you itch. Almond oil goes deep inside your skin, nourishing and moisturizing it from inside.

Your skin gets dehydrated and almond oil is a gift for your skin to return your skin to hydrated stage which will prevent you from itching.

  • Aloe Vera

Your skin rash, burnt skin and itchy skin, all have cure in one natural ingredient: Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is full of anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties, keeping the skin nourished. The gel present inside the aloe vera leaf is one of the best remedy present to get relief from itching and also it treats your acne very well.

  • Coconut Oil

The antiseptic properties inherited to coconut oil are definitely a great help to a dry skin. To very large extent, it is used to control anal itching in children.

Just grab some coconut oil and bring it to room temperature and gently massage it on your affected area and just leave it. The best thing is you not even need to wash it away.

It will hydrate your skin and ease the itching. Yes, our ancestors were always right when they asked us to apply some coconut oil on any itching or insect bite.

Add 2 table spoon of green clay with 1 table spoon of aloe vera. Mix it and apply the mixture on the affected area. On drying, clean it up with warm. Repeat the process once daily for the best results.

The level of itchiness may vary from very mild to severe. In case your itching becomes intolerable, you can also switch to some effective topical anesthetic cream which will definitely help you to get rid of your problem.

The severe itching should never be ignored as it can be an alarm for some other disease. Always, consult a doctor if you don’t get a relief from itching.
