5 Simple Home Remedies to Treat Abscesses

Abscesses or skin boil are the tiny red skin bumps appearing on the armpits, anal/vaginal regions, gums and mouth. They occur due to the weak immune system. Here are some easy home remedies for abscesses.

Potato: Potato is an effective home remedy for treating skin abscess as it removes the poison from that area. Slice one potato and place these slices on the abscess and wrap it with a tape. You can also use a peeled raw potato over your skin which can be wrapped with a bandage.

Onion: Onion contains several antiseptic elements making it best home remedy for skin abscess. These antiseptic properties not only kill the infection but also draw blood to the area of the boil. Cut thick slices of a raw onion and places these slices on the affected skin, secure it with a cloth. Wait for 3 hours and replaces the used slices with fresh ones. Repeat the remedy till the abscess is completely cured.

Alternatively, you can mix onion and garlic cloves. Grind few garlic cloves with small onion to obtain a thick paste. Apply the paste on affected parts of the skin in every 4-5 hours. It is effective remedy to cure the abscesses.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is the powerful antiseptic and antibacterial remedy which is useful to cure the infectious skin conditions. You can use apple cider vinegar to cure abscesses at home. Here are the several ways to use ACV for that.

Mix a tbsp. of apple cider vinegar with a warm water glass and drink it 2-3 times a day.

You can also make a thick paste by mixing apple cider vinegar and water with baking soda. Make sure to add more water to make the thick paste. Apply this paste on the affected part of the skin and let it dry naturally. Repeat the process 2-3 times a day.

Mix ½ tbsp. of ACV with 1 tbsp. of milk cream and ¼ of turmeric powder to make the paste.

Turmeric: Turmeric is the trusted anti-septic remedies for various health and skin problems including inflammation and infection. This Indian spice is rich in curcumin, an element is known for its powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Mix little turmeric powder to milk and drink this 2-3 times daily to cure your infection internally.

Make a turmeric paste by mixing it with milk. Gently apply the paste on the affected part of your skin. The powerful anti-septic properties present in turmeric will make your abscess cured within few days.

Mix 1 tbsp. of turmeric powder with 3 tbsp. of olive oil. Heat the mixture for 5-8 minutes.  Use cotton ball to apply it on the affected part of the kin.

Garlic: Like turmeric, garlic is the vegetable of ultimate therapeutic values. Thanks to the presence of its compound, Allicin, an antibacterial agent. Blend few cloves of garlic in blender and then squeeze the juice out of it. Add few drops of garlic juice on a cotton ball and apply it on the abscesses. Repeat the process for 2-3 times a day.
